Brownie Jade is a beloved Bucephalandra variety. It is admired for its rounded, deep-green leaves and understated elegance. Native to Borneo, this compact rheophyte suits foreground placement in planted aquariums. When submerged, its jade-toned foliage develops a gentle iridescent shimmer. This adds quiet sophistication to any aquascape. Hardy and low-maintenance, it thrives in low to medium light. No CO2 supplementation is needed, making it ideal for aquarists of all levels.
Like all Bucephalandra, this variety comes from Borneo’s fast-moving rivers and streams. In nature, it anchors itself firmly to rocks and submerged surfaces. This makes it well-adapted to aquarium life. It grows best when mounted on driftwood, lava rock, or hardscape. Over time, its roots grip tightly, creating a natural and organic appearance.
